How can I love a phantom gone?
From long ago and far away, yet still I long
To feel his hand on mine again,
To look into his eyes again…

Though we stand a spare few feet apart,
There’s a gap to fill the world over standing in between our hearts.

My heart, it pounds, I breathe unsteadily,
I look into his eyes and feel a stab of pain deep inside of me.

Inside his ghostly eyes,
I can almost imagine that I see how badly I hurt him with my lies.

But he is gone, my phantom is gone,
Our love is lost and he is gone…

A haunting melody
Sings deep inside of me,
Of love that’s lost and gone away,
But I imagine in my sleepless nights of his love come back to stay.

I dream of a love that’s sweet and strong,
It’s what I’ve secretly dreamed of for so long.

So phantom dear,
I beg you to hear,
My heart’s one final plea.
If you can find it in your heart, please,
Love, forgive me…
