Quiet Now, O Mojave

Poetry By: Unfortunate Cowboy

Sh...the things I love are sleeping.

Fiddle plays soft,

and the stars glow,

like tiny specks of diamond

far above our heads.

The dust settles around,

a distant owl flies swiftly,

and gentle noises of rest from the barn

play quiet accompanyment.

Chestnut hair spreads across my lap

as you sleep, so does the desert, darling.
