People surround us
But we still feel alone.
They crowd around and fuss
But we still feel solitary.
We have all the friends
We could possibly want.
What we need isn’t friends
It’s a companion that we hunt.
We crave
To have someone close to our hearts.
To fill the void
Within our hearts.
We search for the one
Who can take away the hurt.
And until the search is done
The hurt will grow worse.
People surround us
But we still feel alone.
They crowd around and fuss
But we still feel solitary.
We try to fill it
With what we believe is love.
But it doesn’t fill it a bit
Because our hearts crave true love.
Only the love
Of that one companion.
Will allow us to rise above
The lonely state of solitary.
We search for them
For our whole lives.
But most of us only manage to skim
Through all the possible loves.
People surround us
But we still feel alone.
They crowd around and fuss
But we still feel solitary.
