My choice of ignorance

Lie to me, please!

Shelter me in your mind cacoon.

I choose to sparkle

in your imaginary sunlight

Instead of fading away

in the shadows of reality.

I choose to have childlike ignorance

We can play and pretend for hours

that the streets are safe at night.

I choose to dance to our

make-believe music,

ignoring the real cries out there.

Shelter me from

the ugliness of this

       fallen world;

I have chosen to live

unaware of Their hurt.
