The darkness falls like perfect silk

on my mind, my body, black milk

Undone, my bitter heart ensues

I gave it my all, I promise you!

With stained and tearful eyes I gaze

Up at the gates of heaven's maze

I feel your stare on my tethered throat

on my broken my wings, my feathered coat

You rest your eyes on my blooded lip

Pooring freely, staining my black slip

I note the danger in your approaching eyes

I gave it my all, my withered voice cries

In the distance, a light catches my eye

A voice so deep : "I know you lie!"

I scream in aguish, recoil in fear

He slashed me deep, from chin to ear

Upon my neck, a beaded necklace rests

The one I was given, for I have passed this test

I breathe through the slashes on my skin

I gave it my all, but I didn't win
