Turmoil of a storm

The thoughts that flow when in awe of nature...

Cold and alone
she sits by the tree
waiting for the storm
to break her
or make her free

The ultimatum it sits
on the edge of the night
wanting to make her pale or take fright

The turmoil inside
is quieted by the sight
of lightning pulsing
in the depths of the night

Firm she stands
at the brink of the storm
knowing her life will soon be torn
torn from her body
by one jagged strike
the light from above
may soon take her life

The powerful clash of thunder rolls on
as she searches the skies
for an answer from beyond

The storm ebbs on
its anger abated
she stands there still
her turmoil not sated...
