It was an instant of forever
So wonderful and so calm
And so unbelievably simple
A dollop of Heaven’s balm
The sincerest touch
And a stolen breath
So fearful of life
But so afraid of death
And how beautifully I destroyed you,
How beautifully you cried,
How beautifully you whispered my name
Just after the sunrise
You went to sleep afraid
Afraid that I’d be gone
But I promised you always
To be on the other side of dawn
So dark but for moonbeams
So alive you thought you’d died,
And trembling softly
Your heart shaking inside
So infected with wonder
And so foolishly amused
And so awfully in love
And so willingly confused
A gentle touch
And holding so tight
Your flower-petal lips
So soft and light
And how beautifully you destroyed me,
As we shared a soul
And how beautifully we break
To become so beautifully whole
