A short poem in one sentence.

Rather than being the leaf, that is
Effected and moved by every strange wind,
And eventually blown free to fall aimlessly down,
I would be the sturdy branch
Grafted solidly to the trunk,
Which no wind or rain can cause effect,
But by its very immovability
Causes the wind to halt or change its course.
