Why Does the Rain Fall?

Poetry By: Werewulf14

A poem I wrote for English class. We were supposed to have advice in it, so i wrote this. It's not my best work, but I hope you enjoy it! :P

Most people I know

When the sun doesn't show

Ask "Why does the rain Fall?

It's cold and it's wet

And i'm willing to bet

The world would be better without it

How could anyone doubt it?"

But if it never rained

And the sun did always show

It wouldn't be much fun,

For how could flowers grow?

If it never rained

We wouldn't value the sun

No one likes the darkness

People are frightened at night

And when the sun goes down they ask

"Why isn't the world always bright?"

But if the world was always bright,

And if the day didn't turn to night,

How tired and dull the world would seem,

Without much sleep or a single dream?

If it was never dark

We'd never dream

If the world was always pleasent

Never dark, or wet, or hot

How, pray tell, my friend

Could you value what you've got?

For in the darkest place

The brightest light is shining

Remember every cloud

Comes with a silver lining
