I’m going to tell you a lonely tale
Of a search for love with no avail
The heart is strange, harsh, and rude
It finds no peace in solitude
It’s a place where lies are simmered and boiled
Where plans are lost and dreams are soiled
Where hope resides at the mercy of humanity
But is traded away for selfish sanity
Three simple words will sew it together
Keep it sheltered through stormy weather
I love you is a simple phrase
But it seldom appears and never stays
I hate you is another phrase not different from the first
The line between them paper thin ending with the worst
This story tells of a young girl who had her heart broken
By three little words better left unspoken
She forgave to much and took not a thing
Caged like a dove and forbidden to sing
Oh how she loved that selfish boy
Oh how he used her as his toy.
He’d hit her in the still of night
Until one night she chose to fight
She pushed his arms and told him no
He had a plan but she didn’t know
He’d been waiting for her patience to snap
But she was silenced with one hard slap
He told her he loved her then threw her to the ground
Said it over and over as he held her down
The rest of the story is better left unsaid
Its better not written and better not read
It is a story of a long road of pain
It later led her to shoot poison up her vain
She’d drink and drink to make it fade
It didn’t work that’s not how it was made.
Its always important to understand the roots
Take off the slippers and put on the boots
How did this sad tale start
What was the thing that broke the heart
It wasn’t an action in any shape or form
What was the white flag thrown up in that storm?
The answer is the conclusion to this lonely tale
She looks for the truth but to no avail.
