I wrote this a while back for a friend. When the skirmishes in Kenya looked like they were heading for their worst he stretched his helpful hand to me and my family and for that I will be forever grateful for.

Visions and dreams I have had in my head,
Of
Mr. Superman saving the day,
He fly’s up high and lands on the bad guy,
Within the minute the day is saved
Of course I knew it can't be real,
Superman does not exist!

Years after I have been proved wrong,
For out of my visions and dreams he came,
Mr. Superman flew to my rescue,
Amazing how he rescues people he doesn't even know!
To him it is about doing good,
It is about doing what is right,
Doing unto others what you would like them to do unto you!
For that is the golden rule!

The steps you took to come to my rescue,
Will forever stay dear to me,
Even though the worst didn't come,
I pride myself in knowing at least I had a plan,
If it did!
You stretched out your hand to me,
A person who doesn't deserve your care,
You showed me that evil hasn't triumphed yet,
For there are good men out there.
The lucky ones are not the ones who win the lottery,
But rather the ones who have known you,
For you are a Superman.

And I take this opportunity to thank you,
For being there for us when very few were,
I will forever be grateful!

Your Kenyan Friend,
Deb
