Looking deep into your eyes,
Hearing your uplifting voice,
Feeling the warmth of your smile,
Makes me question my choice
Watching you from afar,
Wondering if you feel it too
Why are we in this constant tug-of-war?
What is there to prove?
I look up and there you are,
Saddest smile I’ve seen in forever
I fear that smile more than anything
So my gaze is lowered; tears well up in my eyes
Hoping you can hear that loud beat of my heart
Which might let you open yours to me
And let me hear it pounding;
Fast and slow at the same time;
We will listen to the bells chime
Then we will never be apart
It might finally be our push start,
The signs will no longer be ignored
And I will be forever yours
