Eclipses Ellipsis (aka the darkness of light)

Poetry By: Wilbur

Saw on a site there was a challenge out requiring writing about the darkness of light. Intrigued, I attempted the challenge. The result is posted below. A poor thing, but mine own, as I believe someone once said somewhere at some time.

Eclipses Ellipsis
(The Darkness of Light)

The darkness of light
In an eclipse of the sun
Gone sun's burning white
Look quick 'fore it's done
The dark of no light
That's the heart wild on the run
Pell mell races heart
Lost its place, now has no one
The light of no dark
Seeing clear what lies ahead
With all feeling gone
Only cold thought-light shed
The lightness of dark
Stealing home way past midnight
Join stars in playing
Hide and seek with moonlight
Darklight Nessie Monster
Rising from depths of the Loch
Make no noise nor light
Freezes movement to rock
Lightdark ice cream bar
Coat of deep dark choc'late-ness
Cov'ring creamy white
Melting will make hands a mess
The darkness in light
Of newborn understandings
Destroying old ways
Need for new steps, new landings
The lightness in dark
When two turn to each other
Make love in the night
Find new selves to discover
Like the darkness of light
And the lightness of dark
Makes no true difference
As each leaves a mark
From the last of the least
Ocean waves break on shore
Like both light and dark
Birth ever new, ever more
Two sides of the coin
Who flips no one knows
Not even the point
Ever onward all Life goes
