Second Attempts at Haiku
Ruffled waters roil
Life encounters like life
Birdbath
* * *
Dead nerves can’t feel
Beach sands push in between toes
My loss births sorrow
* * *
Smiles shoot energies
Parapet hides the bowman
Choice of weapon, please?
* * *
Think black thoughts at me
Hurl black words at me
Blackbird
* * *
Wings furl then open
Last minute safely pulls up
Seagull
* * *
Echoing exchange
Banshee caws breaking daylight
Crow-down throw-down starts
* * *
Today’s gut true blue
Overhead aloof and white
Who painted the sea?
* * *
Kids cry, snuff back snot
Adults blink and keep dry cool
Pain is better wept
* * *
Sound is all around
Nothing stays still or silent
My head a cage fight
* * *
