I've been waiting
Very patiently,
For the darkness to come
And finally invite me,
For it to overcome
The bright lights,
So I can see
No more sights.
It seems so inviting,
Patient, smooth and calm.
Waiting so very patiently,
For it to land in my palm.
So easy to be tricked,
And think that today's the day
It's going to let me in,
And finally let me stay.
However, it seems,
That it thinks I'm not ready,
It does seem,
That it thinks my life is steady.
I continue to beg,
For the darkness to invite me in,
As I make some more fine cuts
Across my skin.
The darkness continues
To deny my access
As more days,
Weeks, and months passes.
I finally give up,
And decide to live.
Eventually, the darkness will sweep over me,
My darkness, it will give.
