What dark shadow falls o’er that land?

What evil comes from commoner’s hand?

For in place of learning and in public square

Death descends, yes, but from where

For innocents fall by unknown hand

And no one cares in that dark land

Yes day; by day that death bell tolls

But guns they crack as victims fall

They say that this is America’s right

To carry gun by day and night

Then tell me now and tell me true

Will you say this when the dead is you
