Remember when a child you were
Very small and in that form
Lying in that bed at night
All snuggled up and warm
And hear that noise on window pane
Yes, the tapping of the rain
Teddy with you there at night
And he too would sleep the same
The feel of those new clean sheets
So taught and smooth and wrapped around
Your mother ironed them with pride
For you to sleep all sound
And for to lie in that big bed
Yes, not to touch the sides
No worries did we have back then
And on easy sleep did ride
Times now gone and we look back
Over many troubled year
To days gone by, in blink of eye
Now's time to shed a tear
