What evil resides in man?

He speaks not the truth nor yet he can

For ask the why of his actions done

Then laid bare are his actions seen

Why in Sudan is there famine and death

Yet that government is armed to the teeth

Why the Middle East sits with wealth underground

But poverty can be seen there all around

Why Brazil has lone child upon the street

Policemen care not when one is found dead at his feet

All countries that we give our money in aid

Goes for arms and bribery paid

All those who profess to be religiously devout

Are all too willing to kill all those about

It is not aid or justice that they all seek

But personal power and to crush others under their feet

When all in this world cry water and food

Those in charge, buy guns instead?

So true. So true.

As always mate you have a way for going after touchy subjects.
Though if i may your rhyming seems a little forced in some places. Like you tweaked your sentences o get the rhyme but lost a little impact.

It may seem that way, and yes it was done in less than 10 minutes --- but I care not about the finesse of the rhyme as long as the content is brought to the attention of those that may wish to read. I think the more people that see through the veneer of lies that these leaders put out the better we will be. Instead of my e mails to the White House, 10 Downing Street, the TV and news papers, my feeble attempt at poetry may just get one other person to think and act against these pathetic regimes. You may find my aricles more thought provoking. If one can get just one other person converted, it may be that one person that converts thousands. As I see it those who have the ability to write have a duty to cry out against the injustice of this world no matter from what quarter it comes from. Sorry - going on a bit now -- I tend to do that ----- Regards J

You write so well! I don't understand the lack of comments!

Thank you for your comments they are most welcome. I have not put pen to paper for some time now, no doubt when life allows I shall make the effort once again. As to comments on my work; in this day and age of superficiality, a good deal of my work is not that fashionable. As you have no doubt seen in poems such as Dead Dolphins, Foreign Fields, Why the killing, Drunk Driver and Mans Inhumanity to Man, I perceive there is a flaw in the psyche of man that we seem not to acknowledge. I write these only in the hope that some of it may trigger a response in other true writer who will, in the fullness of time, make a difference in this world. It is my hope that other writers will take up the fight against injustice, for it is they that have the power to reach out and capture the minds of the populous.
