The house is quiet and nothing speaks
Not even little mouse doth squeak
I creep around from room to room
I must take care its dawning soon
I see a child asleep just there
With baited breath, I must take care
The breathing of the child's not deep
It's good that she be fast asleep
I'm leaving now my work is done
That's one more less and that was fun
I climb aboard about to leave
And shake the soot from off my sleeve
There is for meno time to pause
Formy job is Santa Clause
