Remember that sun and sky so blue

And waking to that morning dew

The smell of flowers on the air

And waving corn like golden hair

Yes I remember that farmyard too

The lowing cows, the way they moo

Remember that touch of horses hair

And the squeak of gran's old rocking chair

To sit there quiet on the grass

And listen to the birds, yes as they pass

What happened to those days so fine

Just a faint memory; now of mine

If one wish was given me

I'd travel back and there would be

To shown my son how much is lost

And how much now this life has cost

hello Xanado. very nicely written. I think those times we remember so vividly and colorfully are those times when we felt safe and our spirits were high and or peaceful. the scenerys I recall most beautiful are of those when I also felt the closeness/connection with the world. retrievable via the memory, your son will also have these. not exactly the same scene but the same emotional connectedness I'm sure. :) have a very nice day...thanks for sharing...katie

Author Comment:

I remember open fields, space to roam, to be able to be a child without fear. The world today is of violence and hatred and children are expected to grow up too soon. They see a grown up world on TV and too soon become part of it. These days they are worldly wise at the age of six, this is wrong. When they grow up they should be able to look back on their childhood and remember childish things. I think that TV has crippled the children of today. Regards X
