Remember that sun and sky so blue
And waking to that morning dew
The smell of flowers on the air
And waving corn like golden hair
Yes I remember that farmyard too
The lowing cows, the way they moo
Remember that touch of horses hair
And the squeak of gran's old rocking chair
To sit there quiet on the grass
And listen to the birds, yes as they pass
What happened to those days so fine
Just a faint memory; now of mine
If one wish was given me
I'd travel back and there would be
To shown my son how much is lost
And how much now this life has cost
