Just Colored

Poetry By: XUXIKI

I wrote this a while back after and incident that kinda shook me up.

If you could walk in my shoes just one day,

Feel the color branded on my face

Where ever you go, you're out of place

The dread of poverty beyond the horizon

The relief of the struggle in your steps

And still you don't belong

Not white, nor black, not asian

Just Colored

Born with a Cain's mark

Culture ripped from your heart

Groomed to play the part,

From the very start

Not white, nor black, not asian

Just Colored

Would you still be able to judge me?

Knowing that I am yet not free

Hearing in your mind my earnest plea

Not white, nor black, not asian
