Nothing Lasts Forever
Alexandra H'Sain
I always wished for a moment such as this,
The pure happiness intoxicates me,
Into eternal bliss.
I wish for it to last forever,
To be with you and know our bond will never break,
To know that a doubt will never enter.
But I am a fool,
I expect too much,
Humans are much too cruel.
You feel love one day,
You feel lust the next,
But what ever you do say
I know it never is true.
Because I am a fool,
But how about you?
I believed that you loved me,
But it happened so quickly,
Like lightening hitting a tree.
Now I burn inside,
Because of your words,
I wish for it to subside.
I will never trust again,
No matter how truthful it may seem,
My heart will never be able to extend.
Nothing lasts forever,
Something lasts forever,
But we had nothing.
