I lay in my bed
With sheets tucked in tight
Blank walls surround me
Security, in my mind
But soon, I can feel it
Panic floods my mind quick
The walls around enclose me
I become claustrophobic
I kick,
And I scream
Paranoia sinks in
In space smaller than it seems
With the lights turned on dim
I beg for it to stop
But it doesn't obey
The air suffocates
And my thoughts start to sway
My sickness recedes
I inhale deeply
I return to my sheets
And pull the covers up sleepily
For now, it is gone
But it will soon return
I'll take my meds next time
A lesson well learned.
