I know music,
And you can't rhyme
You wouldn't expect me to,
But I followed your shadow out the door.
Now that you've come back,
I'm only a ghost in your mind
I know you,
But you wouldn't bother to figure me out
You say I ask too many questions,
But it's silent when I don't
You don't put up enough fight
And you shield me with foam guards
I can't cry,
And you won't turn me upside down
I could trace your footsteps along this empty path
From my memory, I've memorized every mark
I know where you'll end up
But you won't heed my words
I can't leave
You keep my feet on the ground.
So I'll rest in this shadow tonight.
Perhaps tomorrow will be different.
