On the green
I lay, wondering
Who the monster was
He stares at me with a million eyes
One dark cloak
Yet he lacks a heart
I wonder if he loves us
You don’t need a heart for love
You don’t need blood,
Or a body.
All you need is you.
I stare, puzzled
By the never ending black
I can’t ask him if he loves or feels,
Because he has no ears.
He has no mind, either
Who is this monster?
Is he a monster at all?
