You Are My Yellow

About someone I met.

There I was,
Across from you
Across the room
My eyes kept lingering
I thought yours did too
I could be wrong, though
My heart burned yellow
Your smile portrayed it as well-
Gleaming with comfort
The chords exist only in my mind now
I have yet to recover
For I'm afraid you won't remember me.
In a month from now,
When I see you again…
Will you have moved on?
Or will I be a fluorescent memory?
I wonder if I mean as much to you as you do to me.
Perhaps this was all a mirage-
A trick of the mind.
How could it be?
How could it not?
"For you, I'd bleed myself dry."
