Yours or Mine
Human life is the most magical creation-
from love, hate, to the purest elation.
If given the choice, which would you choose?
your life or mine, someone must lose.
You and your friend; at gunpoint you stand,
the bottom of the cliff, you don’t want to land.
So if it’s your life you wish to keep,
they must be the one to take the leap.
What if there was only one single cure,
to the poison you each had to endure.
Would they take the drink while you got zero,
leaving your memory as the lucky dead hero?
Battle to death, a battle of might,
who would try and win the fight?
Tricky to guess if you’d get your way,
who knows how fate would feel that day.
Now if I was with you and forced to choose,
I can say for sure we’d both have to lose.
Our friendship is to strong for one to survive,
surely the grief would leave neither alive!
