I happened to go to a place called Kiratpur,
A land about which I had neither read nor heard before
Accompanied by my brother and a few wise men,
We were there to spread the words of wisdom,
and to know the problems faced by them
And we met some people living in great miseries,
On their faces I could see nothing but agony
First there was this old man we saw, who lived with no one but his goats,
Since his wife and kids had separated from him and moved to a big city, leaving him all alone
So he looked after the goats, fed them, bathed them and cared for them,
Just like they were the lost family of his own
Then my very soul was shaken up, when I met this gentleman,
staying alone with his mentally challenged grandson,
constantly troubled in his old age, his eyes gave hint of a frozen tear
And this another man had raised his grandaughters,
Since the time they lost their parents at a tender age
Travelling from town to town,
He was trying to collect money to get them married
But Inspite of all the sadness on their faces,
And the suffering of their lives
There was something that took me by surprise,
Something that filled me with awe
It was the fact that they still hadn't given up on the almighty God!
And they came to mosques, nomatter wat the season was
No rain could make them miss their prayers,
No temperature could make them stop!
