The Angel Children
Are a child's tears too small to see
Because people often ignore them.
Are child's cries and sobs too quiet to hear
Because people often ignore them.
Is a child's battered body so commonplace it goes unoticed
Because people often ignore it.
If an angel had tears on her face
Would you ask what was wrong?
If an angel cried out and sobbed
Would you comfort her?
If an angel had bruises on her arms,
If she had cuts on her face
Would you get her help?
Why then do we ignore these children?
Because that's what they are
Angels
Because that is what they will become
Angels
And no child should ever be an angel.
