What wretched word to grace deceitful lips?
As one besieged to easy hearts prevail,
like soldier’s waves come crashing down;
A tsunami of lead and pain opposed(entwined).
Betrayal seethes and then holds dear
the close of time: beat of hearts held still.
Naught hands washed clean of crimson red;
Defy me dear, as one I hold so near:
Rape me with a gun’s steel basinet
on fields of war and hate that must ensue
the utterance of a single word in verse:
“Love”
