Shinny red bow

Awe at last Christmas day has come. Everyone is downstairs sitting around the tree, well not including me. They're laughing and talking about all the crazy Christmas shopping. Then suddenly I hear my bedroom door open, I look up and "Are you okay?" are the words spoken. Spoken by who you ask? Well my little sister.

"Why are you up here missing out on all the Christmas cheer?" she asks.

"Because what I want isn't downstairs or even close." I reply knowing what I want is across the coast.

"What do you mean? There's a bunch of presents wrapped in sparkly paper that is green." She says smiling bright trying to bring cheer to my sad night.

"What I want isn't wrapped in paper. It doesn't have a shinny red bow, but it does wear green in place where grass doesn't grow." I reply.

"Hm, then when is it that you want?" She asks.

"I want to bring all the soldiers home from war, to stitch a rip that their absence tore. I want them to come home and be the cheer that we smile about this year." I reply and smile. After I've spoken I hear me and my sister's name called and we rush down stairs. I smile bright and bye bye goes my sad night. Standing at the door is my army dad and what do you know on his head is a shinny red bow!
