I write poems. I am not a novelist. Please don't ask me to read your book. It's nothing personal. I just don't have time, but I'm happy to read your poetry, though I don't think I write poetry myself. That's why I call mine 'poems'. If you write, find a writer you admire and ask them to critique your work. Someone made a suggestion to me recently regarding a line in one of my poems. I acted on it, because they were right. Opinions are very subjective, so I try not to take them too much to heart, but I do try to learn from them. If you want an honest opinion, I will give you one. Remember if we think we're good enough, we won't get better.

   I have no opinions to offer on fantasy, sci-fi or romance,or so-called 'erotica', subjects which do not interest me, and unfortunately for me, there seems to be rather a lot of this material on here, and people asking me to read it. I'm not qualified to have an opinion on these subjects.

If I had general advice to offer on poetry, it's this; read it out loud and if it doesn't flow and you stumble, then the reader will too.
