SRI SITA : EPITOME OF WOMANHOOD AND VIRTUES

ARVINDK.PANDEY

alt

The world has failed to witness other Sita since her appearance in the Treta Yuga. Her towering presence, the crucible of divine elements,is not only mirror image of Shakti but also epitome of womanhood.Sita is symbolic of grace and beauty of Lord, who enables human beings to attain the highest goal of life -the supreme oneness with Rama.Interestingly, the modern India borrows its role models from the West, being governed by strange mixture of cynicism and apathy towards its heroes of bygone eras.

Though she was the incarnation of Shakti, she had her own share of earthly miseries, making her share the platform with average women . But what separates her from others is the fact that she neither abandoned the company of lofty values nor compromised with lesser principles even in the face of extreme difficulties.Probably, this is why she continues to be fountain of inspiration for people across the globe .
