First and foremost let me say that I am not writing this to speak ill of the Bible or of any particular person. I am merely stating facts, scripture and opinion. Letting the reader decide what is right and what it wrong. I am not implying that one religion is better than another, I simply seek what all men and women have sought the truth. For epochs man has searched for the truth about his God and his place in the cosmos. Join me on a trip about religion, skepticism, science, death and the unknown. Lastly a quote that sums up the ideals and ideas presented in this essay from my favorite scientist of the 20th century, Dr. Carl Sagan.

"The suppression of uncomfortable ideas may be common in religion or in politics, but it is not the path to knowledge, and there's no place for it in the endeavor of science. We do not know beforehand where fundamental insights will arise from about our mysterious and lovely solar system. The history of our study of our solar system shows us clearly that accepted and conventional ideas are often wrong, and that fundamental insights can arise from the most unexpected sources."

WHO or what is God? God is not a white male with a long white flowing beard who sits on a mighty thrown and tallies the death of every animal and human on earth. Nor does 'HE' sit and decide every action, the fall of a leaf, the fall of a roof onto a bunch of church folk, No, God is more of a force of nature then a being in the corporal sense. I think God is a combination of all the forces in the universe, known and unknown. That would include the sum of gravity, electromagnetism, strong force and the weak force and forces not yet discovered. I believe God is a combination of these forces because even God had to obey the laws of physics when creating the universe. God would have to be omniscience, omnipresence, omnipotence. One could question the existence of God by asking one question. Could God create a mountain so large he could not move? The answer is yes, but no, but yes and therefore is unanswerable. We cannot know or understand God or the creator. If God could build a mountain he could not move then even God had to obey the laws of physics. Therefore I believe they are one, not separate ideas. That being God is the sum of all the laws of physics and not two separate ideas. Although praying to the law of gravity or the laws of physics seems crazy so God provides an answer. Even through the courage of our questions and the depth of our answers, humans cannot and will not ever understand God. We are incapable of knowing the creator. The bible, the supposed word of God, after careful analysis, I feel is nothing more than a work of fiction. The Bible is a book written by fallible beings at a time when like today, control of the masses was the goal of those in power. Carl Sagan once said that "The cure for a fallacious argument is a better argument, not the suppression of ideas." So I make the following proposals. Those of Jewish faith regard the Old Testament as their scripture. Those of Christian faith see both the Old and New Testaments as scripture. So I am giving examples of scripture contained in the Old Testament which is regarded as the word of God. Some argue that the Old Testament should not be paid attention to and that it's the New Testament that counts. Well there are passages in the bible that clearly state that the Old Testament is not to be forgotten and is to be obeyed. For example, Jesus makes it perfectly clear about obeying the laws of the Old Testament. "It is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away than for the smallest part of the letter of the law to become invalid" Luke 16:17. Evident in the bible are many errors and inconsistencies. I am going to site some of the more literally insane passages from the bible. According to the Old Testament we are to stone our children for disobedience, Deuteronomy 21:18-21. The bible is full of many mass murders, pillages, plunder, slavery child abuse and killing and so on. In total God ordered the murder or killing of approximately 1,865,265 people, and kills 371,186 himself. Child abuse is demonstrated in Judges 11:29-40 and Isaiah 13:16 and bashing babies against rocks in Hosea 13:16 and Psalms 137:9. Jesus also promoted the idea that all men should castrate themselves to go to Heaven. 'For there are eunuchs that were born from their mother's womb; and there are eunuchs, that were made eunuchs by men: and there are eunuchs that made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of Heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it let him receive it." Matthew 19:12. There are also many inconsistencies in the bible. EXO 15:3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name. ROM 15:33 now the God of peace be with you all. Amen. JOH 10:30 I and my Father are one. JOH 14:28 ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I. EN 7:2 Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. GEN 7:2 of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. GEN 7:8 of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of everything that creepeth upon the earth, GEN 7:9 there went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah. KI1 4:26 And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.CH2 9:25 And Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen; whom he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem. PRO 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. 1 Cor.1:19: "For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent." ISA 14:21 Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities. DEU 24:16 the fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin. LEV 11:21 Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth; LEV 11:22 Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind. LEV 11:23 But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you. Locust or any other insect does not have 4 feet. And there are many other verses that contradict each other. There are other issues to consider when reading the bible. God fixes things up as he goes. The first man is lonely, and is not satisfied with animals. God finally creates a woman for him. Now would an omniscient God forget to do something in the first place? One passage in the bible strikes me as being quite revealing as to the true existence of God as depicted in the Bible. In Genesis chapter 11, verse 1 states; and the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech. Verse 4 states; And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth. Then in verse 6, and the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Verse 8 goes on to say so the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left to build the city. Now, why would a God who is omnipotent, omniscience fear man or fear what man could or would accomplish. I find this strikingly odd that God would fear man.

Is this nothing more than an ill written attempt to explain why there are many languages found throughout the world or does this mean something else. Dr. Sagan once said 'If God is omnipotent and omniscient, why didn't he start the universe out in the first place so it would come out the way he wants? Why's he constantly repairing and complaining? No, there's one thing the Bible makes clear: The biblical God is a sloppy manufacturer. He's not good at design; he's not good at execution. He'd be out of business if there was any competition." I Agree whole heartedly why all the intervention.

I could go on and on and on and on but there are so many crazy passages in the Bible that it boggles the mind. For more examples read an essay written by cult leader Jim Jones, mass murder of Jones Town who wrote an essay about the inconsistencies of the bible. If there is a hell, Jim Jones is certainly there along with Hitler and B. Hinn when he passes. Would a creator who is so majestic so perfect so grand have anything to do with these atrocious and sometimes perverse teachings or writings? Is this the word of God or the word of the perverse and fallible man who comforts himself in the warm fantasy of the bible and its rewards of salvation? I feel that it is better to grasp the truth, the reality then to bath one's self in delusion or fantasy. I do not believe the bible is anything more than a collection of writings written by men who at that time wanted to control the common man through fear. Fear is the strongest motivator there is. Put a gun to someone's head and you can get them to confess, say or do anything. Hence the phase 'God Fearing', should we fear our creator? I do not fear God; I rejoice in God and talk to God on a daily basis. Am I crazy? Well I do not think so. I think crazy is the person who believes everything written in the bible is the written word of God. One of the most vile and perverse abuses of the bible is using the promise of eternal life for the purpose of making money. Dr. Sagan once said "One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we've been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle altogether. We are no longer interested in finding out the truth since the bamboozle has now captured us. It's simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we've been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back." This brings me to a modern day charlatan with power over millions. I have seen Mr. Hinn on television many times begging and pleading for money, using scripture as a devise to latterly demand money. I turned on the television and low and behold happen to come upon a fund raiser for Mr. Hinn. He seems to have one every week but anyhow he said that in order to receive salvation you must sow a seed. He went on to say that the larger your seed the larger your reward or financial return. Now there are old men and women who are desperate for more life, for an afterlife that are sending large portions of their social security checks to Mr. Hinn, trying to buy salvation, trying to buy eternal life. Why once he even had a sermon where he said that he needed money to pay for a Gulf Stream jet that cost 36,000,000. He wildly said sow your seed now, don't even think about it he said, just do it now, hurry, and don't think just go call now, if you think you might change your mind, go. I have never seen anyone so insistent and so desperate before or since. He went on to say, even if you only have a few dollars left or you need to use your credit card sow your seed and reap the harvest now. How desperate he seemed and how evil were his intentions. Incidentally a year after getting his Gulf Stream III jet Mr. Hinn sent out a mailer asking for donations to get Hinn a new jet to replace his old one. Apparently a Gulf Stream III is not good enough for Hinn; he needs a Gulf Stream IV to make money faster and in style. Why fly in last year's model when you're so rich that you can have anything you desire. I am quite sure that sooner, rather than later he will be sending out flyers to all the naive and desperate senior citizens of this country asking for donations for his new Gulf Stream V jet, since God's work can be done faster as proclaimed by Hinn. Hinn also said and I quote "I see rows of caskets lining up in front of this TV set... and I see actual loved ones picking up the hands of the dead and letting them touch the screen and people are getting raised." Apparently his power is so strong, so anointed that the dead can come back to life simply by touching his image on their television. It seems what Hinn desires most is the feeling of power and control he has over millions of desperate idiots who support him. There is a term for that kind of behavior, it's called megalomaniac. He actually believes he is a prophet of God, as he has proclaimed. He has said and I quote "I'm a sample of Jesus. I'm a super being'. He also proclaims to have an anointing given to him by praying at the graves of Kathryn Kuhlman's and Aimee McPherson's. The Truth is that Hinn is "Anointed"; he is anointed by Satan Himself! The Spirit and presence that people feel is Satan, The Devil. When Hinn waves his hand and knocks people unconscious, he does so by the power of hell. JESUS HEALS: HINN STEALS Here are several verses from the bible and what it has to say of false prophets. Deuteronomy 18 v 20: 20 But a prophet who presumes to speak in my name anything I have not commanded him to say, or a prophet who speaks in the name of other gods, must be put to death." 21 You may say to yourselves, "How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the LORD?" 22 If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him. Jeremiah 14:14: Then the LORD said to me, "The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I have not sent them or appointed them or spoken to them. They are prophesying to you false visions, divinations, idolatries and the delusions of their own minds. Jeremiah 23:16: This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you; they fill you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the LORD. Matthew 24 v 24. For false Christ's and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect-if that were possible. Unfortunately Mr. Hinn has not only stolen from the poor but he has committed murder, although indirectly depending on how you view it. Hinn was sued and lost three wrongful death law suits. All three times, Hinn told people at his crusades they were healed of cancer or AIDS. These victims believed the lies of Hinn, stopped taking their medicine and died. It is an absolute atrocity that people have ultimately died by the hand of a Hinn. He goes free to engross more money, more material possessions and 'heal' countless other idiots' naive and desperate enough to follow him. Aside from his bowling pin theatrics of, knock them down pick um' up, knock them down pick um' up 5 or even 10 times theatrics he talks endlessly about sowing your seed to reap the harvest. Incidentally Mr. Hinn has several $80,000 Mercedes Benz and a 10,000,000 dollar ocean side mansion. His annual salary is approximately 1 million dollars. He stays in 3000 dollar a night luxury hotels during his crusades, and his ministry brings in over 100 million a year. I guess it pays extremely well to be a charlatan and deceiver. My great grandmother deceived by Hinn and desperate to be Heaven bound would send Hinn money every month. Even though she had over 170,000 in the bank she would not spend a dime on herself or anyone else but Hinn. She showed me a picture of Hinn and his wife; she actually thought Hinn had personally sent her that photo, how sad. She would drive clear across town to save 8 cents a pound on bananas, but use 5 dollars in gas to get there and back, so I guess it's easy to see how she could be fooled so easily. It's quite apparent she was not the smartest of individuals, but I miss her a great deal.

Now you must ask yourself a fundamental question, can we know God? Can we know the creator? Our brains consist of about one billion neurons. Each neuron forms about 1,000 connections to other neurons, amounting to more than a trillion connections. If each neuron could only help store a single memory, running out of space would be a problem. I might have only a few gigabytes of storage space, similar to the space in an iPod or a USB flash drive. Yet neurons combine so that each one helps with many memories at a time, exponentially increasing the brain's memory storage capacity to something closer to around 2.5 petabytes (or a million gigabytes). For comparison, if your brain worked like a digital video recorder in a television, 2.5 petabytes would be enough to hold three million hours of TV shows. That's a lot of TV, but when put in comparison to the computational power of a computer the brain is roughly equal 1 trillion computations per second. But even with all that computational power I still do not understand my creator, my God. It has been said that men were the dreams of Gods, but perhaps God's are the dreams of men. I prefer the cold hard facts opposed to the warm comforting fantasy any day.

Carl Sagan once said that can we know, ultimately and in detail, a grain of salt, let alone the universe? Consider one microgram of table salt, a speck barely large enough for someone with keen eyesight to make out. In that grain of salt there are about 10,000,000,000,000,000 sodium and chlorine atoms. In that one grain alone consist of a million billion atoms total. If we wish to know a grain of salt we must know at least the three dimensional position of each of these atoms. There are approximately 100,000,000,000 neurons in the brain. A typical neuron has about 1000 dendrites or connections to other nerve endings. It seems likely that every bit of information in the brain corresponds to one of these connections; the total of things knowable by the brain is no more then 100,000,000,000,000, one hundred trillion. But this number is only 1 percent of the number of atoms in a speck of salt. So in this sense the universe is intractable, astonishingly immune to any human attempt at full knowledge. We cannot on this level understand a grain of salt, much less the universe or its creator. But let's consider another point about God. God is said to be eternal, all powerful, and created everything. He created all the laws of nature and can change anything by an act of will. He is all good, all loving, and perfectly just. He sees everything past and future. God's creation was originally perfect, but humans disobeyed him and brought imperfection into the world. Humans by nature are evil, sinful and must suffer in this world because of this. God gives humans the opportunity to accept forgiveness for their sin, and whoever does will be rewarded with eternal bliss in Heaven. Now consider this, what did God do during that eternity before he created everything? If God was all that existed then, what disturbed the eternal equilibrium and compelled him to create? Was he bored? God is said to be perfect. If something is perfect, it is complete, it needs nothing else. We humans engage in activities because we are pursuing that elusive perfection. A God who is perfect does nothing except exist. But if something is perfect, nothing imperfect can come from it. It has been said that bad fruit cannot come from a good tree, and yet this perfect God created a perfect universe which was rendered imperfect by the perfect humans. The ultimate source of imperfection is then, God. What is perfect cannot become imperfect, so humans must have been created imperfect. What is perfect cannot create anything imperfect, so God must be imperfect to have created these imperfect humans. A perfect God who creates imperfect humans is impossible. The Bible is supposedly God's perfect Word. It contains instructions to humankind for avoiding the eternal fires of hell. How wonderful and kind of this God to provide us with this means of overcoming the problems for which he is ultimately responsible. The all-powerful God could have, by a mere act of will, eliminated all of the problems we humans must endure, but instead, in his infinite wisdom, he has opted to offer this indecipherable amalgam of books which is the Bible as a means for avoiding the hell which he has prepared for us. The perfect God has decided to reveal his wishes in this imperfect work, written in the imperfect language of imperfect man, translated, copied, interpreted, voted on, and related by imperfect man. No two men will ever agree what this perfect work of God is supposed to mean, since much of it is either self-contradictory, or obscured by enigmatic symbols. And yet the perfect God expects us imperfect humans to understand this paradoxical riddle using the imperfect minds with which he has equipped us with. Surely the all wise and all powerful God would have known that it would have been better to reveal his perfect will directly to each of us, rather than to allow it to be debased and perverted by imperfect language and botched interpretations of man. One need look to no source other than the Bible to discover its imperfections, for it contradicts itself and thus exposes its own imperfections. It contradicts itself on matters of justice, for the same just god who assures his people that sons shall not be punished or the sins of their fathers turns around and destroys and entire household for the sin of one man (he had stolen some of God's war loot). It was this same God who afflicted thousands of his innocent people with plague and death to punish their evil kind David for taking a census. It was this same God who allowed the humans to slaughter his son because the perfect God had botched his own creation. Consider how many have been stone, burned, slaughtered, raped, and enslaved because of Yahweh's skewed sense of justice. The blood of innocent babies is on the perfect, just compassionate hands of God.

My first experience with Christianity was when I was 17. I was playing basketball beside a church with my best friend Eric. My friend and I had our shirts off, since it was almost 100 degree's that day. A man dressed in a suite came out and asked us politely to put our shirts back on. I asked why and he replied that there was Sunday school going on and he didn't want the young girls to be corrupted by my nakedness. He said we are trying to teach them to be good righteous boys and girls free of corruption. Thinking to myself how ridiculous his statement was I put my shirt back on. He asked do you go to church. And I replied no. He went on to tell me about God and I told him that I didn't believe in God because there was not any proof of GOD that I knew of. He said well you can feel the wind on your face but you can't see it but it exists. Even at 17 I thought this man was an idiot for trying to compare the presence of God to the feeling of wind up on one's face. After I proclaimed that I still did not believe he said I needed to have faith and then he asked us to leave. It seems that even though we were hurting no one my beliefs cost us a good game of basketball. Years later I reexamined this event and thought to myself, why I should fear or be ashamed of my own naked body. It's not as if my genitals were jingling about in front of the girls and boys in bible school. I merely had no shirt on. Adam and Eve were supposedly naked in the Garden of Eden. It was the devil that made them aware and ashamed of their nakedness, was this man the devil incarnate. Adam and Eve were quite content with their nakedness until they were corrupted by the serpent, the devil. But considering what the man in the suite said, what is faith? Faith is the strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof. Can I base something as important as the creator of all things on just the basis of faith? The bible even cleverly adds this basis for belief in its scripture. Heb. 11:6: But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. What counts is not what sounds plausible, not what we would like to believe, not what one or two witnesses claim, but only what is supported by hard evidence rigorously and skeptically examined. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence and faith holds no merit to such a grand claim as God. Faith by definition is the absence of evidence. By saying you must just have faith, you are really saying nothing or cleverly avoiding the question altogether. If your child had a brain tumor, would you leave it to faith for God to heal or would you seek a medical professional. Common sense hopefully prevails and one would see the neurosurgeon. Those who are bible literalist are basing their belief in the science or medicine of the bible. This knowledge of medicine in the bible was acquired from the Babylonians at around 600 BC. Again would a conscientious mother or father subject their child or themselves for that matter to medical knowledge from 600 BC or today's modern medicine? It seems only logical that when questioning God's existence one would use logic and common sense. Faith is the belief in the absence of evidence, believing when there is no evidence is a mistake. A smarter idea is to withhold belief one way or another until there is compelling evidence. But I guess the only way to know God, to know the creator and the validity of faith is to die. Unfortunately at the exact moment following death there is no way to send information to the living, so our knowledge of the creator is taken with us to the grave and therefore an unknown now and forever. Having read this you might think that I am an atheists, but that could not be farther from the truth. Atheists by definition are stupid since they say that there is knowledge that God does not exist. How does an atheist know this, where is their proof? I do believe in God, just not the bible. I am skeptical of religion and therefore have my own personal relationship with God as I know it. I say it because I do not believe that if there is a God that it is a male or white for that matter. I often wondered as a child do black children believe that God is a white man as depicted everywhere, or that Santa clause is a white man. Or do their parents teach them that their God is a black man as well as their Santa clause. There are many questions that are aroused within me when I think of religion. There is a part of me that hopes and dreams for an afterlife, a place where my consciousness will continue forever. But again, am I grasping at the warm comforting fantasy? Well maybe, but someday I shall find the answer to the ultimate question of mankind. But for as long as there is religion there will be those who are taken advantage of, there will be countless wars and deaths all in the name of religion. The bible should not be taken literally and used as a manual for everyday life. The messages or ideas in the bible were applicable to the time in which they were written. Also it has been translated and rewritten so many times that the actual 'word' of God has been lost in centuries of translations. If we were to take the bible as the absolute word of God and follow its teachings then we would all be dead, for in Deuteronomy 21 it says to execute children who insult their parents, and I do not know of a single individual who has not insulted their parents at one time or another. I believe that our society would have been better off never having discovered or invented religion in the first place. The main problem with religion is that there are those who are biblical literalist. They believe the bible is dictated by the creator of the universe and has no metaphor or allegor. Religion encompasses many ideas; history, poetry, great literature, ethics, morals but religion has no place in dictating science. Who is more humble, the individual who looks at the universe with an open mind and accepts whatever the universe has to teach us, or the one who says everything in the bible must be considered the literal truth and never mind the fallibility of everyone involved with the writing of this book. Unfortunately man's inability to answer the fundamental questions of who am I, what is my place in the universe, who created everything, requires an answer. Religion however fundamentally flawed it may be provides an answer to some. For those who are skeptical of religion, science and the insight it provides of the cosmos gives them answers. Science, repressed throughout the ages by religion, is not the slow progressive death of religion, but meanly a tool to better understand the answers not provided by religion. I hope for a day when all the answers are found and man can live alongside each other in peace and harmony, without war, death, famine, hunger and racism. I have hopes for a better tomorrow, for if we do not destroy ourselves with nuclear weapons we are surely, someday bound for the stars. I think most men in every epoch have said at one time or another, what a great splendor it is that we live in this age, and not 100 or 200 years ago. I heard someone say this very thing last week, they said how wonderful it is to live in the 21st century and not back before there was modern medicine, TV or the Internet. I on the other hand have a different view about this. I wish I had been born 1000 years into the future and not now. Just consider the awesome advances we have made in the past 100 years alone, and now think of what advances might be made in another 1000 years, given we do not destroy ourselves. The dinosaurs ruled the earth for over 200 million years, time alone does not ensure the survival of a species, it's exactly the opposite. The more time passes the greater the chance that a species is to die out. There are far more species extinct then are alive today. It's a testament to natural selection and other processes of the universe that we have no control over. An event like the impact of a very large asteroid in my lifetime is extremely unlikely. But given enough time this event becomes extremely likely. It's the same with evolution; it irks me when I hear people say that evolution is not real, that creation is the answer. Evolution requires many many years to happen. An event that takes millions or billions of years cannot be seen, measured or understood by beings that live merely 75 or 80 years. It's comparable to seeing a tree grow, or seeing your finger nail grow, it's absolutely impossible to see but it does happen. Evolution is a fact, not a theory; it really happened and is happening still to this day. Perhaps the next species to rule the earth some millions of years from now will be a descendent of the dolphins or great whales. The earth still has about 7 to 8 billion years of life left so I can only imagine the species and descendants of both man and other animals that will arise and die in that time period. I can see no possible way for man to continue living as a species for another 7 or 8 billion years without traveling to the stars and therefore other planets. There is no way man can continue to live on a planet with finite resources and finite space. Even now we have problems with famine and our population is only a little over 7 billion individuals. In the past 100 years alone our population has grown from 1.6 billion at the start of the 20th century to over 7 billion. Projections place the population at over 9.5 billion by 2050. By 2100 the population is expected to be around 8 to 12 billion. The farther in time we go so increases the inaccuracy of the math or projections given there are so many variables involved. There is also the impact of global warming and climate change which some scientist feel may kill off most of the population leaving only a mere 500 million alive in the next century. One projection said that if we account for a modest growth of just 1% a year, the population in the year 3000 would be a whopping 65 to 80 billion. Again the further out the projection the more error with the math given so many variables but still the number would be astronomical and the Earth absolutely could not sustain that kind of population. Steven Hawking has said that the planet will become uninhabitable in the next 1000 years and our only chance for survival is to head for the stars. Perhaps my dream of living 1000 years into the future was not so good after all, but there are always possibilities. Everything has a beginning and an ending. Even the protons in the atoms we are made of have a life span measured in years. One followed by 32 zeroes which is an immense amount of time when imagined by beings that live a mere 80 years. But this also brings about another question. If there was nothing before the creation of the universe and the universe has an "expiration" date then what comes next. Some have said that perhaps the universe has always existed, that there was no big bang, no beginning. IF that were the case then how could matter that ultimately decays through immense amounts of time exist for eternity? These are not easy questions and there are no easy answers, hopefully someday in my lifetime answers will be found. I was asked once how could I not believe in God, as in the bible since 95% of the people on the planet believed in some kind of creator. They asked how I could be right and everyone else suffers from mass hysteria. I replied that at one time most everyone believed the word to be flat, we found it was not. There was a time when the Earth was believed to be the center of the universe and spontaneous generation was thought to be the cause of maggots on rotten meat. Even in modern times there are beliefs that almost everyone thought were true but were not. The idea that Columbus discovered North America or that the Wright brothers were the first to fly an airplane, Thomas Edison invented the light bulb or that we only use 10% of our brains. All of these ideas were once thought to be true by almost everyone. Throughout history there have been many ideas or ways of thinking that have been found to be completely false. So when asked if 95% of the people on the planet could be wrong when it came to religion and God, my answer is yes, absolutely. I guess due to the complexity of the questions and the inability to find answers leads people to seek out religion since it has an answer for everything, or so it seems.

Now before becoming depressed because you now believe that there might not be an afterlife after all, there is a possibility and alternatives. There is a principal called entanglement, so strange that Einstein called it spooky action at a distance. Two particles that are entangled with the fabric of space can exhibit the same action as the other no matter the distance between the particles and at the exact same time. This would imply that information is traveling between them faster than the speed of light, but according to Einstein, nothing can or ever will surpass the speed of light, therefore he didn't like the theory. It was later made a fact after very careful laboratory experiments proved that entanglement was real and not a theory. Some even think that the brain does indeed think faster than the speed of light, consider deja vu. That's what happens when you exceed the speed of light and make time twitch. You create a temporal disturbance, although highly localized in your brain, which is then interpreted by our intellect as a delay in a thought already conceived in the past. This makes us think we just had this thought, which we did. We registered the thought twice, once as the super-physical faster-than-light disturbance and once as pure physical information that our senses can register. This also explains why we have no idea that we just experienced a thought until we receive the information, because there's nothing to process the faster-than-light part. This means that our thoughts are not quite bound by physics, although the process of cognition is. There is even a theory that all consciousness of all living beings past and future are a part of the fabric of space. That would explain how people like Mr. Edwards can supposedly commune with the dead. I do not believe this and I think he is spooky at any distance. Joking aside, recent findings have found that in the brain neurons on one side of the cerebral cortex can spontaneously affect neurons on the other side of the cortex without even receiving signals across multiple neurons. The classic and very basic way the brain is thought to works is one neuron fires which connects to another and causes it to fire and so forth. But if neurons in one region of the brain can cause other neurons in the brain to react with no physical interaction then the bran acts sort of like a quantum computer and exhibits entanglement, just like Einstein's spooky particles. It is a proven fact that we are all connected via the earth's magnetic field. It is a proven fact that two individuals who are both isolated from the Earth's magnetic field can share an experience, even when separated in two different rooms at a distance. When an individual shielded from the earth's magnetic field is subjected to a specific magnetic field and another individual in a separate isolated room is subjected to the same magnetic field they can share experiences. For example, when one sees a flash of light the other sees a flash of light in their peripheral vision. This sort of remote viewing is an application of consciousness that permits a person-viewer "to describe or give details about a target that is inaccessible to normal senses due to distance, time, or shielding when another individual is in tune to the same magnetic field. This would explain how I can pick up the phone and dial my Mother's number and upon answering she says I was just thinking of you. This Consciousness entanglement means that local intentions by a viewer on target information will instantaneously interact with entangled target information - no matter how far apart the viewer and target are. Information from entangled consciousness appears available all the time. Although we do not always perceive the information 'on time', it is still available. Now, for the most part these instances happen at random and we pay no attention to them. But statistically they are important. This cosmic consciousness as you may call it is a consciousness comprised of a universal intelligence with links to every consciousness in the space-time continuum via the earth's magnetic field and the fabric of space itself. Random number generators for example can be affected by an individual sitting near them who is focusing their thoughts on them. There have now been random number generators set up all over the globe that have recorded significant spikes in deviations when a particular event occurs. One spike in particular was on 9/11 when the twin towers fell. The spike occurred before the towers fell, not during. This also demonstrates that there seems to be about a 5 second interval of time that information is perceived before it happens in real time. For instance the sixth sense is an example of this phenomenon and is a proven fact. There is a sixth sense and people do perceive events during and especially right before they happen. It's that feeling you get deep down in your gut that something bad is going to happen. Now most of the time everything is fine and we experience nothing wrong, but there are documented events that people have had precognition of. I have had my own experiences with this precognition and with information shared via the earth's magnetic field. For example when my grandfather died I had a feeling deep down inside to check the internet for his obituary. Low and behold he had died, several months ago. This has happened to me six times now. Each time the person that I thought about and looked up died approximately 3 months or less before I perceived it. Now, it might be that the Earth's magnetic field is a sort of internet in its self that shares information from one individual to another. Sometimes when two people share a particular strong bond, that information can go straight to that individual, that phone call to my Mother for example. So, our minds are not only connected to the fabric of space, but to the earth's magnetic field. It would seem quite logical that if our consciousness was connected to the earth's magnetic field then the magnetic field its self would be connected to the fabric of space and time. Now as far as an afterlife goes, when the brain dies, it is possible that the consciousness is actually entangled with space time and just dissipates back into the cosmos via the earth's magnetic field to the fourth dimension, essentially giving us immortality. Since we cannot perceive the fourth dimension or even conceive of it death seems to be a permanent state of non-existence, but it is not. Now, how or if we would have conscious thoughts while in the fourth dimension is a question that is again unanswerable. Since we live in a 3 dimensional world we cannot perceive any dimension above that of the 3rd dimension but if we could see in the fourth dimension it would give us a sort of X ray vision. We would see through objects and then, perhaps commune with past loved ones. Perhaps God is a 4th dimensional being, he would have all the powers that we attribute to God and it is completely plausible. But as far as immortality and my consciousness, I truly believe that after death my consciousness will dissipate through the earth's magnetic field 4 dimensionally into the fabric of space where I will be returned from which I came. We are all made of star stuff and my atoms will one day be at the heart of a star, shining bright, perhaps upon a planet, with oceans and life, much like earth and I will be and ever shall be a part of the cosmos. Of course there are other ways of immortality or semi immortality. When we open a book we open up the mind of someone, maybe dead for hundreds or thousands of years. Books are a way of forever imprinting your consciousness or personality for people to read for many many years to come and a diary is a good way to start. Many diaries of famous people are read every day. Now who is going to read the diary of John Doe? Well probably no one but his descendants but it will still be remembered and passed from generation to generation. And the last and most common way of immortality is to pass your genetic material and have children. So on a whole consider your demise as a transition, not a death and a complete loss of consciousness from a life lived, but a transition to a new state of consciousness on a completely different plan of existence, just imagine the many fascinating possibilities. If you remember anything at all, remember this quote from Dr. Carl Sagan, for I use it every day when considering the validity of someone's ideas and the direction of my ideals. "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence."
