A Vote for God's Administration: Sanctified By Faith

What is the Character of God ?

Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence (John 18:36).

As life progresses and the American election advances, a real question emerges in the mind of those concerned about the Character of God. Many have asked themselves, should a Christian vote for Political Governing Officials. Our choices are so far from the Character of God as realistically, the world of politics has no virtue or righteousness. Yet, as a body of believers, standing firm for the Character of God, we must have a voice and be heard. The Everlasting Gospel and the message of Victory over sin, which the bible was written to address, MUST BE TAUGHT TO ALL, EVEN THOSE WITHIN BABYLON (1Thess 5:23, Romans 1:16, 17). Obama, Mccain, Pahlin and Biden appear desperate for office, manifesting poor conduct and anti-social behavioral traits, as they seek to defame the character of each other.

The foundation principles for the Kingdom of Heaven are found in Matthew Chapter 5, 6 and 7, outlining the proper behavior of God's Heavenly subjects. As an example for our time, Christ, our Messiah and Redeemer, seated at the right side of God the Father was a true Example of the Character of God (Rev 3:21). Let's examine The Desire of Ages for an answer regarding this real question, "SHOULD A CHRISTIAN VOTE FOR POLITICAL GOVERNING OFFICIALS":

"The government under which Jesus lived was corrupt and oppressive; on every hand were crying abuses,--extortion, intolerance, and grinding cruelty. Yet the Saviour attempted no civil reforms. He attacked no national abuses, nor condemned the national enemies. He did not interfere with the authority or administration of those in power. He who was our example kept aloof from earthly governments. Not because He was indifferent to the woes of men, but because the remedy did not lie in merely human and external measures. To be efficient, the cure must reach men individually, and must regenerate the heart".

"Not by the decisions of courts or councils or legislative assemblies, not by the patronage of worldly great men, is the kingdom of Christ established, but by the implanting of Christ's nature in humanity through the work of the Holy Spirit. "As many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." John 1:12, 13. Here is the only power that can work the uplifting of mankind. And the human agency for the accomplishment of this work is the teaching and practicing of the word of God" (Desire of Ages pg. 509/505).

The Messiah stood clear of any worldly governmental influence, as He would be responsible for His endorsement of a Political Leader. Similarly, as citizens of a Country we must consider that we too will be responsible for who we vote into power.

Ye shall receive Power,

bubbly,

Thanks so much for your insights. I do know that we are in serious times, warranting that we put our complete trust in the Messiah, Jesus Christ.

Dear Sister,
You know, I truly forgot about Matthew 5, 6 & 7 and your right, everyone is using poor conduct in hopes to gain seats in office or become president. It makes me sccared to vote. I'm suppose to drive my eldery mother on Monday to do the earily vote. You really gave me alot to think about, and read.

Hey I've been up all night submitting some of my stuff here on booksie, so if you get a chance please read them. If you liked my 'Lessons on Lies' I am sure you'll like my 'Life & Living' featuring 'within the seed lies that which determines the fruit.'

The Greek,

Voting is a very personal issue, but I felt it necessary to mention that Jesus Christ didn't get involved in electing Worldy Governing Officials. As we must focus on being filled with the Holy Spirit, following Christ without Compromise, voting can be dangerous. Christ is our ideal role model. Let's prepare for His imminent return, remaining in a unchanging, fixed, absolute Sanctified relationship with Christ, Victoring over Sin, while perfecting Character, through His righteousness (Matt 5:48, Phil 3:9-11, 1John 3:9).

Sabbay :)
