God's Language and Power

SDA Writer's Corner

How Can we Overcome this sinful and corrupt World ?

How powerful is THE WORD OF GOD ? Let us receive and experience the Word of God, enabling us to be His children both today and eternally. The Word became flesh (John 1:14). Let's embrace The Word, as Christ, the wisdom of God left His Throne in Heaven to redeem us from sin and corruptibility (1Cor 1:29,30; 2Cor 5:21). Christ is our example and His Word will not return void (Isa 55:11), as there will always be a remnant of His seed:

Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

His Word will not be void, that is God's assurance that He will have a righteous body of Christ, a remnant, a harvest, 144,000 in number (Eph 4:12.13; Rev 14:1). Peter edifies that the word lives and abides forever:

1Pe 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever

Those who submit completely to the Will of the Father and are obedient, will be among this true remnant (John 5:30, 6:38-40). The same way that God spoke and the world became in existence, is the same way that God's Word will be made manifest in our hearts (Psalms 111:9, Heb 4:12). God speaks and things are done (Psalms 33:6-9). The spirit, His infinite Power, are beyond what our finite minds can comprehend:

Isa 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

Isa 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

The Father spoke the Word and the Spirit moved across the waters at the onset of our world's creation. Christ is the wisdom of God who spoke humanly (1Cor 1:30, 15:45-58). God doesn't speak the way we speak. God must however speak the way we comprehend through the power of the Infallible Word of God, the Holy Scriptures:

Rev 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

As true Adventists, members of the church of Philadelphia (Rev 3:7,8), preparing for Christ's second coming we must reinforce that:

2Pe 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

I like the words "true Adventists"...so many of us use those words, but yet fall short. When it comes to making more and more sacrifices for Jesus that's where we tend to draw the line.
