Since America is a place known for it's tolerance of religions. The prerequisits must be filled in order to actually make it a religion but if you were to have a meeting place or your church I believe that is one of them. You need a specific amount of people to form a religion. The idea I am getting at is that if the people who smoked weed and used psychidelic drugs for Religious enlightenment and Religious experiments formed a specific branch of a religion or their own religion I believe it would be legal to use these drugs now because America is open to all forms of religion and is not allowed to permit a specific religion in the country because our whole foundation was based upon having the write to choose our own religion just a tought that intrigued me .

Interesting, but I think it wouldn't work. The reason being that illegal drug possesion is still a crime. An example of this could be the Jehovah Witness. They do not subscribe to the use of extra means of medical treatment (I think) and if their children die in their care because of this they will be held accountable. The Mormons used do believe in polygamy, but it was illegal an punishable if caught. Maybe I am wrong, but that is my rebuttal. Point/Counterpoint, Jane you ignorant...never mind.
