 CHAPTER 4 [ The Road ] POEWHIT
THE BEGGAR, walked along the dusty dirt filled road. Pitted with two groves to catch the span of the carriage wheels. Carts drawn by horses, carried the farm produce to the market place. Ruts, the same baked hard into the mud flats. Filling the groves and waiting for the next and infrequent rain. It was a maintenance, which wentundisturbed for many years.
THE BEGGAR, with the long soiled robe, walked along the road. The hardness of the dirt, catching the callous feet of, THE BEGGAR. Some parts of the road, crumbling under the pressure. Some parts remaining firm and not yielding to the presence of, THE BEGGAR. All the elements under the road, supported the balance of power. Containing the will and substance, not to crumble under the weight.
A weight which contained the size of the body of, THE BEGGAR. A dirt lined thefeet of, THE BEGGAR, at the under-sole part. It was only a thin layer of dirt. Alienated from the road and clinging to, THE BEGGAR. Forming a shield against the road and the substance below. A below, which went to the other side of the world.
A road supported by the dirt below the surface. Only showing the surface of the road to all users and passer-byes. A rutted surface, with mud that melts and then hardens. This depending on the rain and the amount of the rain that falls. Ridges, cracks, flows, rut cuts, and scraped loose, with the usage of the dirt road. Not being a road made of cement, rock or any other road grade substance. Only a road formed by man,for the needs of man upon the earth.
