My left eye lied to them
Its tear rolled down my cheek
They did not see the strength within
They thought that I was meek
I spoke of past transgressions
Of mine and those who hate
Where are their confessions
I was not too late
They thought that it was pure lament
Yet they could only see
The half of me that still is rent
They missed the part that's free
Today I'm grateful for both sides
I can smile at sins
Glad that He in me abides
My right eye rightly grins
