Crossrode
Seems I'm always at the crossroads
but the devil won't meet me there.
He must figure he's already got my soul,
I ain't his cross to bear.
It’s not that I want to rule the world.
have power, wealth or fame,
I only came to claim what’s mine,
redemption from the game.
Having traveled left and traveled right,
the road is not plain to see.
The straight and narrow for some is easy,
just not so easy for me.
Someday I may catch the devil
and get him by the tail.
No bargains made, or debts be paid,
on the other side of the veil.
