Peace, like a river, 
Flows into my tormented mind.
The panic and the torment of satan's fiery darts are Quenched... 
and die!
What substance was there 
in his lies and half-truths?
None that I can see - 
now that You are Here!
The Beauty of Your Presence and Your Smile...
Are enough to Melt away the biggest fears!

He tried to tell me that You are busy,
Saving other newly tormented souls!
He tried to tell me that I am selfish - and self-centred -
to want You Here with ME...
On and on his lies went,
trying to cage me in behind bars of steel!
But... softly... oh so softly...
like a dove's soft feathers...
Your Holy Spirit Slips into my soul...
And Your Boundless Love to me Reveals!

This battle's Won, he's fled away -
as Your Word Promises he would!
I know such Peace...
and can hear The Beating of Your Heart...
It Pounds with mine,
producing an endless Symphony...
For, when my earthly life is done, 
my heart's duet with Yours will Eternity start!
No doubt some time he'll try another skirmish,
But another chink of knowledge in my spiritual armour
is now in place!

MY HELMET OF SALVATION - 
The Crown of thorns upon YOUR Brow!
MY SHIELD OF FAITH -
The wooden Cross YOU Died upon for ME!!!
MY BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS -
my heart is right with God because of YOU!
MY BELT OF TRUTH - 
You Died for ME at Calvary!
MY FIERY SWORD OF THE SPIRIT -
God's Word in the much loved Bible lying upon my knee!
MY FEET SHOD -
with the desire and willingness to spread 'The Good News of Peace with God' through Your Blood!

THIS IS MY ARMOUR
and Guarantees that one day Your Beautiful Face I will see!!!
