He Planted her with Loving Care,
As oft' He'd Planted others.
A rose with petals soft and fair,
Whose perfume gently lingers...
What Care He Lavished on her,
Though she was unaware...
Like so many others,
She took His Presence forgranted - always there!
Someone spied her in The Garden,
Her gentle manner he did love.
So he asked if he could have her,
To cherish and to love.
The Gardener gave Permission,
He took her to his home...
All went well for many years,
The rosebud she had grown.
From season unto season,
She poured all the love she knew...
Into her softly perfumed petals,
Diademed with dew.
But that someone had an evil streak,
From others he had hidden!
He led her down such tortuous paths,
To do as she was bidden.
He petals started drooping,
Her luster soon was gone.
For shame had reared its ugly head -
Light the world had none!
How could she understand it?
When all she'd done was love?
She bowed her head in sorrow,
As dark clouds gathered above!
In her anguish, she cried aloud,
A cry straight from the heart...
For The Gardener, Who'd Planted her,
Allowed her to depart.
Swift as an arrow did He Come,
And brought with Him, His Best Loved Son.
A Crown of thorns upon His Brow,
The reward for all the Loving things He'd done!
They Gently Touched each petal,
And Soothed her broken heart.
Until she stood up straight and proud,
As They Vowed They'd ne'er depart.
IF she'd only let Them Guide her,
Throughout the remainder of her life.
Trusting and sharing her world with Them -
The good things AND the strife!
For Their Love is all encompassing,
For those who answer The Call.
The Son Leads to The Father,
His Light can all Enthrall.
No other way leads to The Garden,
No other holds The Key.
Yet... those who too have suffered,
CAN Light the world with He!
