God is gracious, God is great
Twas God that taught us how to hate
God is mighty, he gives us power
To destroy the lives in the twin towers
5000 dead, now that must prove
Of God’s great wisdom and eternal love
Praise the lord the klansmen shout
Now let us burn the niggers out
Love thy neighbour? The good books right!
As long as he’s protestant and white
Children orphaned every day
As the enlightened spread the holy way
All hail the father and the son
Proclaims the man as he loads his gun
The meek shall inherit the earth, its said
Comforting words to the millions dead
Dead through war, diseases and famine
Oh just sit back, admire God’s planning
So what’s the aim of this God above
To unite the world in peace and love?
If he plans to make us equal, the same
Then his is sure a mysterious game
He walks on water, brings back the dead
Turns water to wine, stands on his head!
So why can’t he , with a wave of his hands
Bring even one day of peace to these poor lands
Imagine there’s no heaven, words from a song
I could live with that, don’t say it’s wrong
To live a life free from the ways
Of religious men and their righteous haze
God is gracious, God is great
Twas god that taught us how to hate
