This is my experience at a pow wow, I've gone to about 5 so far and will be attending one. This is wrote not to insult any race or religion. My wife is part Cherokee and out of respect I wrote this about the pow wow.

Going to a Pow Wow

The smell of burning sage all around.

Unknown why to many just wanting to see people dance with the eagle feather proudly displayed on their outfits of many bright colors.

The smoke is to bless and cleanse one's spirit inside.

Entering the circle with openings pointing north, south, east, and west.

Each with a meaning for each direction that many don't know is a large medicine wheel.

Some trying to teach people to respect all of God's creations and nature.

The people of great honor dance their best and grabbing sage and saying a prayer to the Great Creator.

Then throwing the sage into the fire and the smoke is their prayer going into the air.

The eagle feathers fan the smoke into the sky up where eagles fly.

I danced in the circle honoring the veterans one day gave me a spiritual cleansing I have to say.

It gave me a new view on life. Life is a circle from beginning to end, and God has many different names my friend.
