the prayer poem

father in heaven

i thank you for the sky

for when i look up

i see soaring birds

reaching heaven

lord i thank you for the desert

because even though there's no food or water

your word will be my food

and your spirit will quench my thirst

lord god i thank you for the rain

which reminds me that my sins are washed away

i thank you for the deightful , flitting, alluring doves

because it was one of those creatures you sent

when jesus was baptize

and lord i thank you for the cross

in which your son jesus died

so that i can have eternal life.
