Safe and sound?

In my heart's desire,
One does pain of fear.
For the flood of death awakens us,
Shout to the heavens!
Singing choir,
Look up to God and stare.
And not in front of us,
Is a man without beard or hair,
and a chain of dust come falling
Pitter, patter, pitter on his chair.
"God will save us!" They all sing,
or is the rapture near?
