Crown of Thorns
by Sister Sabbay (December 29, 2008)
How can we be Redeemed from Death or this Earth ?
One asks, where is God when we need Him?
Why is there "unwarranted" suffering, a baby starved today and where was God when we needed Him?
A man is begging for food on the street, yet scoffs at the sight of pennies, can that be real?
An Angel of the Lord sends a basket of food to a hungry family; they are happy and enjoy, yet was it sent by the Most High?
The more I think the more I wonder:
the empty, vacant, materialistic mindset of mankind; pleading for money yet evading the simplest of life's essentials.
A young girl gave her heart to someone, causing insecurity; a perversion caused by sin; who can she trust?
Someone in India gave their life for the Messiah's cause yesterday, a brave soul; yet amazingly they felt no pain,
protected by the outpouring glowing shield of the Holy Spirit, martyred, like Stephen (Acts 7:59).
A woman and her father in Pakistan, accepted the Messiah; yet were consequently punished,
placed in a cold, deep, heartless dungeon.
Where is their reward and why Lord?
The fear of dying and the sense of anger because of death, learning that Life on this earth is painful, but why?
A man finds peace while on the streets in a cold, dark alley-way,
a street of fury, filled with thick demonic presence.
A woman is wandering the New York City subways aimlessly,
telling her story while heralding songs emerging from deep within her tormented mind,
voices unheard as the crowd watches in amazement and ridicule, does God see this?
A man finds love in his family on a day although mysteriously unrelated to the Messiah's birth,
loved ones assemble together, unified in a place of security, yet feeling the coldness of envy.
Does God want families to behave this way ?
Where is God throughout this unbearable struggle, filled with grief:
a paradox, compelling one to be filled with the Redeemer's Righteousness
(Galatians 4:19, Philippians 3:9-11, Colossians 1:27).
A still soft voice, the Holy Spirit, bellows we must die daily to sin, fueled by the Holy Spirit's Latter rain,
realizing that the daily struggle, the pull of sin, is part of our need for the Godhead's Empowerment;
the Eternal Power, Wisdom and Love from Heaven
(Hosea 6:3, Zechariah 10:1. Romans 1:20, 1 Corinthians 1:29, 15:31, Romans 5:5).
The Messiah bore a Cross for all, a burden; a Head-dress made of thorns was a Crown,
impending pain, unmerited favor, distant from our experience.
Yet the Messiah's pain was felt for all mankind, even those that pierced Him,
yet His meek, lowly, humble response echoed (Matthew 11:29),
sadly unequal to His sweat of blood, tears and grief.
Forgive them for they know not what they do, as they gambled for His materials and clothing (Luke 23:34).
A prophesy fulfilled, as it was Finished at the Cross; satan, an exposed murderer, revealed his character.
The Messiah's return and Kingship remains contingent on the work of His precious gems (144,000),
required to completely submit to their Father's Will,
subsequently receiving a symbolic Sealing Mark in their foreheads
(Ephesians 4:30, 1Thess 4:16,17, Rev 7:1-4, 14:1-5, 19:11).
Our Redeemer, manifesting a blemish-free Character,
ascended to Heaven: His work ratified by God the Father;
His inauguration into the Heavenly Sanctuary duties,
an anti-type of Aaron's coronation into the earthly priesthood, enabling our
VICTORY OVER SIN
(Psalms 110:4, 133:2, John 19:30, Acts 2:1-5; Hebrews 6:20, 8:3,4, Jude 1:24,25).
