Crown of Thorns

by Sister Sabbay (December 29, 2008)

How can we be Redeemed from Death or this Earth ?

One asks, where is God when we need Him?

Why is there "unwarranted" suffering, a baby starved today and where was God when we needed Him?

A man is begging for food on the street, yet scoffs at the sight of pennies, can that be real?

An Angel of the Lord sends a basket of food to a hungry family; they are happy and enjoy, yet was it sent by the Most High?

The more I think the more I wonder:

the empty, vacant, materialistic mindset of mankind; pleading for money yet evading the simplest of life's essentials.

A young girl gave her heart to someone, causing insecurity; a perversion caused by sin; who can she trust?

Someone in India gave their life for the Messiah's cause yesterday, a brave soul; yet amazingly they felt no pain,

protected by the outpouring glowing shield of the Holy Spirit, martyred, like Stephen (Acts 7:59).

A woman and her father in Pakistan, accepted the Messiah; yet were consequently punished,

placed in a cold, deep, heartless dungeon.

Where is their reward and why Lord?

The fear of dying and the sense of anger because of death, learning that Life on this earth is painful, but why?

A man finds peace while on the streets in a cold, dark alley-way,

a street of fury, filled with thick demonic presence.

A woman is wandering the New York City subways aimlessly,

telling her story while heralding songs emerging from deep within her tormented mind,

voices unheard as the crowd watches in amazement and ridicule, does God see this?

A man finds love in his family on a day although mysteriously unrelated to the Messiah's birth,

loved ones assemble together, unified in a place of security, yet feeling the coldness of envy.

Does God want families to behave this way ?

Where is God throughout this unbearable struggle, filled with grief:

a paradox, compelling one to be filled with the Redeemer's Righteousness

(Galatians 4:19, Philippians 3:9-11, Colossians 1:27).

A still soft voice, the Holy Spirit, bellows we must die daily to sin, fueled by the Holy Spirit's Latter rain,

realizing that the daily struggle, the pull of sin, is part of our need for the Godhead's Empowerment;

the Eternal Power, Wisdom and Love from Heaven

(Hosea 6:3, Zechariah 10:1. Romans 1:20, 1 Corinthians 1:29, 15:31, Romans 5:5).

The Messiah bore a Cross for all, a burden; a Head-dress made of thorns was a Crown,

impending pain, unmerited favor, distant from our experience.

Yet the Messiah's pain was felt for all mankind, even those that pierced Him,

yet His meek, lowly, humble response echoed (Matthew 11:29),

sadly unequal to His sweat of blood, tears and grief.

Forgive them for they know not what they do, as they gambled for His materials and clothing (Luke 23:34).

A prophesy fulfilled, as it was Finished at the Cross; satan, an exposed murderer, revealed his character.

The Messiah's return and Kingship remains contingent on the work of His precious gems (144,000),

required to completely submit to their Father's Will,

subsequently receiving a symbolic Sealing Mark in their foreheads

(Ephesians 4:30, 1Thess 4:16,17, Rev 7:1-4, 14:1-5, 19:11).

Our Redeemer, manifesting a blemish-free Character,

ascended to Heaven: His work ratified by God the Father;

His inauguration into the Heavenly Sanctuary duties,

an anti-type of Aaron's coronation into the earthly priesthood, enabling our

VICTORY OVER SIN

(Psalms 110:4, 133:2, John 19:30, Acts 2:1-5; Hebrews 6:20, 8:3,4, Jude 1:24,25).

Bubbly,

All Glory be to the Most High, as our Redeemer Christ, Yeshua, reigns in Heaven: a testimony of His Love and Perfect Divine Character (Matthew 5:48, Rev 12:17). My sole role model is Christ Jesus, as I put on His robe of Righteousness, endeavoring to be Victorious over sin in my daily walk (Isaiah 64:6, Phil 3:9-11, 1John 3:9).

Atanacio (Frank),

All Glory be to the Most High, as we LIFT UP JESUS CHRIST, Yeshua, the Messiah! His grace overflows for mankind: praise God, as we aspire to die daily to sin, overcoming the propensity to transgress God's Ten Commandments, placing all our faith in the Messiah (Exodus 20, Matthew 5:48, Galatians 2:16, 1Corinthians 15:31, 1John 3:9, Revelations 14:12).

Marina,

As we Lift Christ up daily, dying to our transgressions, we ponder what life in that Heavenly Kingdom will entail. I desire to swim the river of Heaven, as I love to swim and dive. Revelations 22:1-2 speaks of a "river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb", adjacent to the tree of life. It is so amazing how life is so short, time waits on no one. However, Christ has a salvation plan for those who yearn for RIGHTEOUSNESS, clothed with the Messiah's blemish-free Robe, perfecting Character as per the guidance of the Candle of the Lord (Proverbs 20:27, Galatians 2:16, Philippians 3:9-11, Revelations 21).

Sister Sabbay,
Someone once told me that it's very hard to be good but easy to be bad, God gives a choice to pick which path we'll take. It isn't always easy not to sin, but I think that's how it has to be. It's a very nice poem. ^^ It speaks only the truth. It's only the matter of making the right choices. When people blame God for the world's problems I can't help but think if God were to solove all of our problems, how are we suppose to ever learn on our own?
Thank you very much for this wonderful poem.
Sam :)

Sam316547,

I completely agree that it is easier to sin, and be SELFISH, as that is why we say it's the pull of our fleshly nature (a deadly sin, pride or greed for power). Remembering that Satan was cast out of Heaven because of a difference of PRINCIPLES, as Satan was SELFISH and SELF-EXALTING, conflicting with the LOVING, SELF-SACRIFICING PRINCIPLES of God (Isaiah 14:14, Zechariah 9:9, Matthew 11:29, Romans 5:5, ) In other words, functionally Jesus Christ had the same pull of the flesh, yet He never had the propensity to sin EVER. Thus, we can surmise that the flesh will remain weak if we do not completely sumbit to the Will of the Father, as Yeshuah, the Messiah fully modeled a life of full submission to God the Father. Remembering when the Messiah was tempted by the adversary, satan, on the Mount (Matthew 4:4), Christ responded with the Power of the Word, IT IS WRITTEN. That is how powerful the Godhead is as spoken in Scipture, and all personalities are ONE (1John 5:7), it's a mystery so we must not try to rationalize it (1 Timothy 3:16). We can however surmise that the Godhead is Eternal, consisting of three characteristics; the Power, Wisdom and Love of God (Romans 1:20, 5:5. 1Corinthians 1:30).

May God continue to grant you Power over the PULL of SIN my friend, as you continue to question the Principles of God. It is only God that can give Victory over the "Pull of Sin", we can't do it on our own (1John 3:9). For the record, I write from my heart, that is why I must constantly use the Holy Scriptures as a POWERFUL ETERNAL reference; I don't have a Minister per se, as I study the Bible "Sola Scriptura" daily, utilizing the Spirit of Prophecy as a means of assisting with interpretative clarification.

Happy Holidays & New Year !

The eternal question - thanks for the reminder that we need only look within ourselves to get the answer:)

Lift up Jesus Christ

Lunaperra,

Unfortunately, I can NOT agree that we should "look within ourselves to get the answer", as we did not create ourselves, nor can we save ourselves. There is a higher, ETERNAL,INFINITE,POWER; the Godhead, containing the Lamb of God, the Holy Spirit and the Father (Romans 1:20, Romans 5:5, 1Corithians 1:30, 1John 5:7). I wish you much success, as we continue studying and aligning with TRUTH:

John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me".

A delightful read, but it seemed kind of broken up with your source citations in the actual poem. Sometimes it's best to include a list of them at the end of the piece so it doesn't break the reader's concentration.

Brooke Gross,

Excellent Point! I do agree, however, as my overall role here on Booksie is to express what I deem as Truth, regarding God's WORD, I rather the flow be edifying and comforting within the mind of the reader. I don't mind the actual work being broken up, as my goal is not for self-exaltation or pride. As we continue in our walk, putting on the Messiah's ROBE of RIGHTEOUSNESS, let's continue to lift of the Lamb of God (Isaiah 64:6, Phil 3:9-11).

A very interesting Poem. It touches on a baby starving, a man begging for food, a broken hearted young girl left in a state of insecurity, a woman & her father from Pakistan who suffered punishment because they accepted the Messiah, and other discriptives of suffering fear and streets filled with demonic presence, etc. These are indeed true to life scenarios and causes and situations that God is interested in helping, so it would help to add the conclusion of how God does reach out to help those discribed in this poem... how that through His miracle working power and love He can multipy the fishes to feed the starving, through his healing power, raise the dead and heal anguished minds mend broken hearts.
I think that is why some readers, like Edwardcullen, this poem may have been somewhat confusing-- as it leaves out the miracle working power of God and His ability to touch, heal, mend, solve & supply.
There are other portions of the poem that are not all together clear... perhaps they are deep sayings, but I do think that if it's purpose is to be a witness of God's power & love, then it should be simple enough for all to understand.

Ben Fighter,

Thanks for your time and comment. I wish you peace in your Work on Perfecting Character and Victoring over sin, in the Messiah's Righteousness. I will pray and ask God for His Guiding Gift, as I can do nothing without Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).

Happy New Year !

I belive in God and believe that he has a path layed out for everyone that we just have to choose to walk upon or go another way. God dosent give us the answers, he gives us the oppurinty to answer our own questions. This was a very good poem, made me stop and think about things. I agree that it is easy to do bad things while to be good and do the right things is more difficult.
Keep writing. :)

Pratibha,

God's timing is always PERFECT (Matt 5:48). Thus, we must always put our faith in God's timeliness, allowing Him to be our Pruner, removing all those Character flaws that do not manifest the Fruits of the Spirit, unto complete Holiness, reprenting His remnant (John 15:1-7, Galatians 5:22-23, Ephesians 4:12-13, Revelations 14:1-5).

Sabbay :)
God bless !

I loved this line,,,it soothed my soul inside out...

A man finds peace while on the streets in a cold, dark alley-way,

a street of fury, filled with thick demonic presence.

yet there r many who have loads of money but no peace within their soul

Posted: Jan 14, 2009

Author Comment:

Pratibha,

You are so correct. The love of money is the root of all evil, and many find money, yet never find peace which comes solely from the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22,23). Thus, I wish you much love, joy and peace, fruits of the Holy Spirit; as God, the Pruner and Husbandman, works at refining our Character flaws (John 15:1-7).

Sabbay :)
God bless !

Sabbay,

A wonderfully written piece. I thoroughly enjoyed your descriptive words, as they truly brought your piece alive.

This poem really blessed me, especially when I hear of all the martyrdoms going on in other countries for the cause of Christ. Like Corrie Ten Boom once spoke of a story her father told to her. He said to Corrie, When you are going on the train do I give you the money in advance? Or do I give it to you when you get your ticket? She answered, When I get my ticket, then you give me the money. She was questioning whether she would ever be strong enough to be a martyr for Christ. God will give us the grace at the time we need it, for sure. He is faithful. We must keep looking to Jesus, the author and the finisher of our faith. God bless you, Sister Sabbay.

Susan Hartline Fouts,

I am curious, have you ever read the book THE GREAT CONTROVERSY by EGW (1884 Edition)? I highly recommend this book, particularly during these SERIOUS end times, as many who are claiming Christianity have forgotten the significance of all which the Messiah completed for us at the cross; focusing more on worldly possessions. However, as reassurance, God will never be mocked and His Word will never return to Him void (Isaiah 55:11, Gal 6:7-8). May God richly bless you, as we continue perfecting characters, reigning and victoring over sin, through Yeshua's righteousness (Matt 5:48, Phil 3:9, 1John 3:9).
