The journey
I saw the darkness
As it approached
I let it take me
Through its journey
Its décor was tempting
Everything I liked
Everything I wanted
Even though along this road
I was the lone traveller
I was the wanted wanderer
Even so, I carried on
It was so appealing
So enticing
So wonderful
Then I felt the grasp
And I felt the burn
As I travelled further
The air grew hotter
The fire grew heavier
The weight was a burden
No more could I look back
No more could I turn around
The heat was pulling me
A magnet to its torture
Forcing me, blinding me
Binding me
Then came the grasp
Soft and loving, caring
It was calling me
Ushering me
Come back
Come back
Come back
The burn was to strong
Along the way the grasp held on
Then finally, in one moment I turned around
And the cool bright light cradled me
It guided me back
All the way home
Home to my lord
