It's Really Plain And Simple

It's really plain and simple as it can be

God wants me to love you and for you to love me

Then hand in hand we're to love Him in return

and aid one another out of our concern.

That's it, not a shackle, a ball and chain

just treat one another kindly to be treated the same

If you see someone lonely and down in the dirt

pick them up, dust them off, and help heal their hurt.

Make a friend of a neighbor who lives near by

and stop to cheer them up when you see them cry

You may need their shoulder to cry on some day

and if they have the time they're sure to repay.

It's not all that hard as some make it to be

with rules and regulations we'll never be free

Just walk a few miles in each other shoes

and when they wear out make some brand new.

We each have a gift from our head to toe

with no body left out and no body to slow

From teacher, preacher and carpenter to build

helper, counselor and physician to cure an ill.

bypassing gender, nationality and wealth

the best for each other and each others health.

A heart and a hand is all we need at times

better than moonlight or the warm sunshine

brothers and sisters and blind to the fact

that we may be white, yellow, red or black.
