The Lord made the sun to brighten our day
and made the moon to be our light at night
So why baby do we walk the wrong way
when He made himself to be our guide.
We hide in the day and we cry in the night
because we're not there by each others side
We're not as ugly as we claim to be
just a wilting flower standing out in the heat.
Take my hand and we'll walk the beaches
if I see you without then I'll try to reach it
We'll work off the land and fish in the ocean
then take a vacation if we take the notion.
With our families, our dear neighbors and friends
if we can't find the beginning we'll be there at the end
Between heavens and hells we walk a fine line
across a tight rope to be with God in due time.
The Lord made the sun to brighten our day
and made the moon to be our light at night
So why baby do we walk this way
when He made himself to be our guide.
If truth be told, well I need you more
so I'm so sorry if I made you sore
A little bit of water for my thirsty flower
to perk you up in the evening hour.
When the sun goes down and the moon comes up
we'll eat, drink and be merry from the loving cup
A little bit of wine for the stomachs sake
and the word of God for food or fate.
With our families, our dear neighbors and friends
if we can't find the beginning we'll be there at the end
Between heavens and hells we walk a fine line
across a tight rope to be with God in due time.
The Lord made the sun to brighten our day
and made the moon to be our light at night
So why baby do we walk the wrong way
when He made himself to be our guide.
